- Custom proteomic services
Markets Served
Sigma-Aldrich provides reagents and innovative technologies for drug
discovery and biomedical research. We offer several platforms for
functional genomic studies, including the MISSION(tm) shRNA library,
PEPscreen custom peptide libraries, as well as custom synthesis services
for antisera, oligos, peptides, and custom-package design.
Major Products and Services
Small hairpin RNAs or small inhibitory RNAs (siRNAs) for RNA
interference
Multiple formats available: bacterial glycerol stocks, purified plasmid
DNA, lentiviral particles, and custom siRNAs.
AQUA peptides for biomarker quantitation
Stable isotope-labeled peptides used as internal reference standards
for mass spectrometric quantitation of proteins and post-translational
modifications are available.
PEPscreen custom peptide array
Custom peptide arrays for efficient screening of diverse protein
interactions in a high-throughput format are also offered.
Functional protein arrays for protein
profiling
Correctly folded and uniformly oriented proteins in a microarray format
are available; they are suitable for screening a range of molecules
including DNA, proteins, and small molecules.
Serum depletion for biomarker
discovery
Removal of the top 20 most abundant plasma proteins results in increased
loading of low abundance proteins and potential biomarkers.
Facilities
Sigma-Aldrich opened a $55 million Life Science Technology Center in
December, 2001. The 130,000 ft2 state-of-the-art facility can accommodate
over 200 scientists and focuses on multiple initiatives including genomics,
functional genomics, gene expression, proteomics, and cell biology. Our
immunochemical production facility in Rehovot, Israel specializes in many
cell-based technologies, including antibody production and innovative cell
signaling kits.
